Halloween continued...

Halloween continued...10:19 AM Halloween planning...10:05 AM ![]() I love a good party, and the annual Halloween party hosted by Sam & Rachel is always a good time. This year we've decided to theme it up and do all Superheroes/Super Villain. I'm pretty excited since I decided my costume would be Ms. Marvel who for all intensive purpose kicks butt and looks wicked cool. I have the leotard, I just need the gloves, the sash, and the thigh high boot tops. Oh, and the mask, that could be kind of important so as not to reveal my true identity. the dust settles...9:52 AM
So the wedding has been over for a few months now, and I've had no problem settling back into my old routine, the only problem is I feel like I need more in my life now that constant worry about the wedding has subsided. Don't get me wrong, I am NOT one of those brides who misses the wedding and wishes she could do it all over again. Truth is, I'm ready to move onto bigger and better things. So the obvious question is...when are you going to start trying for children? I'd love to say today, or tomorrow, but in reality, that day may be much farther off than I anticipated when my husband and I said I do. The economy sucks, no news flash there, and S is having problems finding what we have dubbed a "Big Boy Job." Okay, that is understandable. We don't have money for a down payment on a house. So, I'm attempting to save that tidy sum, not that we'd be able to get a house anyways, because we'd like to move to a location closer to wherever it is that S ends up with a job at. So...I'm stuck in purgatory. I can't really plan for the future (a hobby of mine that I've practice religiously since the age of 5) and I can work toward a goal with the down payment, but it seems so unrealistic at this point that part of me questions the point. I'm well aware that this part of my life will happen when the good lord is ready for it to happen, and probably when I least expect it, but I've never been the best at functioning on someone elses schedule. The end result, or conclusion to this all... I have none. I'm trying to take one day at a time. Have a good day at work, focus on me and who I want to be, be creative, be inspired, dream more, relax more, enjoy more. This week has been good. Hopefully, next week can be just as good if not better. And when the next sandstorm comes through, I'll know just where we keep the broom.
Wedding photos are done!9:52 AM ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Are they not amazing? I credit it all to the fact that Caitlin of Hazelton Photography is the best photographer out there, and her staff is also amazing. You can see more photos on her blog athazeltonphoto.squarespace.com as well as view the slide show she created here. The whole day was amazing and only made better by the fact that we have these great photos to remember it by! I got my proof book in the mail a couple days ago, and not only is it beautiful, it is the size of a dictionary. I'm talking HUGE! I don't know how Scott and I are going to be able to get through all the photos and pick out our favorites. It is going to be a challenge, but once we do, I can start creating my wedding album, which I'm now very much looking forward to! Bad Blogger...9:51 AM
I know, I know, I promised photos and other post wedding stuff, and I have failed. Epically. Well, I'll do a little posting now, and hopefully a lot more posting later.
The wedding is OVER!4:46 PM ![]() Yay! Finally, the wedding is over, we are back from the honeymoon, and I can actually spend some time in front of a computer screen again. (Scott and I agreed that we would not get on one AT ALL during the honeymoon, and we stuck to it, though by the last day I was itching to check my email). So now I'll have time to post photos that I didn't before, and follow up pictures for everyone to see once they get posted. So here is one to keep you all in anticipation. The faux-to booth (as our lovely and creative photographer Caitlin Hazelton at Hazelton Photography has named it) was an absolute hit. Scott and I got to take the christening shot, and it is highly entertaining if I do say so myself. I've seen a few, and they are quite histerical, I can't wait to see the rest! Cookie Contemplation...1:24 PM ![]() I think for the cookie buffet I'm making chocolate chip, sugar, peanut butter, sugar plums, lemon & strawberry coolers and then I'm considering these tasty treats... nutter butter balls. I saw these on Bakerella, and I love how easy they are. Plus, I could do the same with Oreo's (Scott's favorite cookie). What do you guys think? Do you have any other suggestions. How many kinds do you think I need, and how many of each kind? I'll take any suggestions you've got. Sneak Peek - programs1:17 PM ![]() You'll have to wait till the wedding for all wonderful details to my little programs, but here is a peek at the cover Scott and I finally agreed on. It took a compromise, so that I could have some more playful details on the inside. The color is a bit off on the image, but it's the same colors as the invitation. The shower and parties are over, now the countdown really begins!1:13 PM Ready for a fabulous weekend!7:38 AM In case you all haven't heard already, maybe I didn't mention it enough, my shower and bachellorette party are this Saturday. I can't tell you how excited I am, you'll just have to take my word for it. The weather is supposed to be nice and sunny and I can't wait to visit with all my friends and family. I'll be honest, at first I was a little apprehensive about the whole thing. I'm still not looking forward to sitting in a room opening gifts while 40 or so people stare at me (awkward), but I'll get over it. I'm just excited to see everyone and finally see the culmination of Melissa's uper extreme planning. (I really think she and I could start a wedding planning company, I could do the design and labor and she could plan out the whole thing). I know the whole day is going to be fabulous fun, so for all of those of you coming, Yay! I can't wait to see you!
Cute cookie idea - great for valentine's day!7:37 AM Must have... for future use10:59 AM ![]() Ummm...I have to post this cause it is just too cute, and will come in handy for a future party Melissa and I will be planning. Find it here. Wedding ceremony10:40 AM 7 Days till Shower/Bach Party!7:13 AM ![]() I'm soooo excited that everything is finally coming together. As of today we only have 7 days till the shower and bachelorette party! I can hardly wait. I owe a huge thank you to Melissa and Suzy for doing all of this work for me. They tell me I deserve it, but I'm not always so sure. But reguardless I couldn't ask for better friends and family. The whole wedding planning process has not been what I would call easy, and it certainly wasn't always fun, but I would have never made it this far without all of them. So THANK YOU! Now lets hurry up and get to that party! ;) Amazing Veils...a new twist on a tradition.7:02 AM ![]() ![]() Most of you have probably heard how I am not a huge fan of the traditional veil. I think it is way over done and does not really work with all people. If I had seen these veils months ago I might have forgone my original plan and purchased one of these amazing pieces from ARTIKAL NYC. They are all amazing and beautiful in their own right and would make for an amazing accessory on anyone's big day. (plus you have to love the hairstyles worn with these.) Choosing my religion2:26 PM ![]() I normally don't give much thought to Scott's religion, till I see a church like this, and then I sigh. Because Lutheranism is sooo close to Catholicism, and yet so far. I would have loved to have gotten married in a church that was as beautiful as this one. Scott's church has it's own charm, but nothing like this. Nesting?1:50 PM New favorite blog9:01 AM ![]() Melissa and I both magically stumbled across this website at the same time, while looking for the same thing! It had to be fate. So now, it is my favorite site ever. Hostess with the Mostess gives you ideas for EVERY kind of party you could ever want to throw. They have links to great resources for purchasing your party, or dining needs. There is even sections on etiquette for just about any kind of party you could ever want to attend. Plus, the site is bright, clean and fun! What more could you want to look at every day. You have to check it out, but fair warning, you'll be hooked after 30 seconds. Accessory part24:01 PM ![]() I also got this super cute necklace from Forever21 to wear with the shower dress, and prob. transition into the party. It's also available in pink if anyone is interested. It's on final sale for $3.80! HERE IS THE LINK.
Bachellorette Party Accessory!3:53 PM ![]() I wanted to get everyone attending the B party something to accessorize with, and I found these adorable hair flowers from Forever 21. So I got them. As long as they ship everyone will have an option of either pink or grey to wear that night. Super fun!
Just cause I hadn't posted it yet....3:50 PM Button, button...part 22:56 PM ![]() These were the designs I came up with for the buttons, btw, based off the invitations and the (possible) wedding programs. I'll have to load what I have for the programs too, as soon as I convince Scott that it doesn't matter that they aren't very "adult." Really, he can be such a stick in the mud/ruiner.
Button, button, whose got the button?2:49 PM ![]() Ok...so, in case you didn't already know. I LOVE buttons! I found a great website that will produce you buttons (that you design) for super cheap! I'm talking 200 buttons for $60. How awesome is that! So, I'm thinking I want to make buttons for the reception. I've almost got Scott talked into it. I know, a kinda of useless expense, but dangit, I want them! We'll see if he likes my designs. Ooops! Almost forgot to tell you name of awesome site! OneInchRound.com
